Day 5 – Create Croatian Christmas treats with Marija

“I don't make this recipe myself as it's far too complicated, but my Mum makes it every Christmas (and only on Christmas as it's so labour intensive - if you manage to have a go at baking a batch or two let me know how they turned out!)
We call them ‘peaches’, but in Croatian they're ‘breskvice’. The recipe also has a little bit of rum in it, which as kids we found so funny because Mum let us eat them despite the fact they had alcohol in them.
Making them takes a lot of care and perseverance, but if you’ve got time to spare they’re well worth the effort!
