As New Zealand’s national ambulance service, Hato Hone St John turn up for Kiwis in their times of need. So when they told us they urgently needed to build and upgrade ambulance stations around the country, we knew we needed to go big to help them light the way.
Station of Light was a stunning visual metaphor representing the beacon of light these stations will become for both our ambulance officers and the communities they serve. And it was created with no digital trickery in sight.
160 synchronised LED lights were attached to a large structure, then erected in the heart of a South Auckland community. This iconic visual became the foundation of our annual appeal, which included a multi-channel ad campaign, best-in-class peer-to-peer fundraising activity and a Giving Day, where all donations were doubled.
More than just a campaign, Station of Light was a work of art that inspired Kiwis to donate a mammoth $3.8million – a 90% uplift year on year. And we’ve given Hato Hone St John a new fundraising platform that will shine a light on our stations for years to come.
